Happy Mardi Gras! If they were throwing the HOTTEST books off of a Mardi Gras
float — what would you do to have them throw to you…?
I am English, which means that I am
genetically programmed to NOT make a scene of any type for any reason at any
time, so I am actually incapable of doing more than offering up a polite smile
and small wave, whilst being trampled to death by everyone else . . . and then
apologizing to them for getting in the way! :D
Hehe!! Nice polite answer!! Love it!!

Polite is just part of our national culture, so I can't really help it! :D
DeleteIs that how the English really are? How curious! I thought was just in the books/movies!
ReplyDeleteMy FF for this week. The question was hard to answer though!
Happy weekend :)
Ugh, I so totally posted the wrong FF link.
DeleteHere's the correct one!

Unfortunately, we are raised to be very passive in our social interactions, which is why we begin so many sentences with "I'm sorry to bother you, but . . ." :D
DeleteYou didn't say what you wanted them to throw to you!
ReplyDeleteYay for polite English people.
Axie @ Books are Bread: My FF
Any books would be fine . . . just no beads! :D
DeleteYeah I wouldn't be doing anything either. Just stand there and hope I am taken pitied on since I look like a teenager!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Follow Friday

They would probably apologize once they realized . . . :D
DeleteHopping through~~
ReplyDeleteYour answer is so English and cute I want to hug you. ;) I cannot agree more, though!

I don't get called cute very often! (blush)

ReplyDeleteNew follower.
My F&F.

Thanks, that would be appreciated! :D
DeleteHaha, so polite! I'm not English, but I would either do the same as you, or no be there! :D
ReplyDeleteGFC follower!
My FF Post!
Yeah, I would probably just avoid the whole mess as well. :)
DeleteI visited New Orleans during Mardi Gras season a couple of years ago and I came home without a single string of beads . . . it was an interesting experience. My American experience is of a culture that is very polite and shy of showing its sexuality and partying in public . . . apart from in NO where anything goes! :D
ReplyDeleteFantastic answer, I'm British too and so I can completely sympathise with being unable to make a scene.
ReplyDeleteI'm your new follower and I look forward to reading you, and thank you for popping by my blog!
I like your Manners....

Politeness won't get you that far though. Mum always says to me I've got to be in it to win it even if that means the worst things; got to be upfront and centre. Hehe!
ReplyDeleteThanks for following. Following back via GFC.
That's very true, but I just can't stop myself . . . :D
DeleteLOL! I'm always so drawn to the English (youtubers (Charlie + Alex Day), Russell Brand, and Vex on Lost Girl) because they seem to have this attitude like eff the world, this is the right way to live.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following by! Following back via GFC.
Or not. GFC keeps sending me an error message. I'm following via RSS though!
ReplyDeleteBad GFC! :D
